TOP 5 YOUTUBE CHANNELS FOR CRAFTING INSPO!

I remember sitting in my dorm room in the fall of 2015, I was journaling consistently a had glued first piece of ephemera in my journal (a mini envelope I had made out of scrapbooking paper). I immediately went to YouTube, thinking that I might have come up with something that not many people had thought of before (obviously not!).  I was pleasantly surprised to find a whole community inspiring creative journaling and mixed media channels. I wanted to share channels that I have been following since the beginning of my creative journaling journey and consistently go back to for inspiration. I do want to note that some of the channels I’ve listed below have gone on a hiatus or post infrequently but have a large backlog of binge worthy videos.

1. MyGreenCow

MyGreenCow (AKA Daisy) was one of the first creative journaling YouTube channels I found back in 2015 and she has  consistently sat in at my top 10 channels since. This channel is perfect for anyone who prefers a less writing focused form of creative journaling. One look at her channel will tell you that she loves color. Her spreads are filled with vibrant washes of watercolor, photos, tip-ins and collage layering that always come together perfectly! She runs a small business by the same name (MyGreenCow) where she sells her own sticker designs and ephemera packs. Her channel also includes studio vlogs that show some of the behind the scene looks into that process of being a small business owner and content creator.

2. Rebookery Channel

I can’t remember when I started watching Gina but I can say with confidence that her journaling style is among the most unique I’ve come across. All of her journals are made from altered books and filled to the brim with paint, collage, vintage elements and photos. On the surface it make look like an art journal, however, on watching her process videos and listening to her commentary you find out quickly that each element has a special meaning. A fun art journaling spread turns into an interesting form of “secret” journaling. This channel is great for those who prefer minimal writing or are looking to find a new way to journal without the stress of it being read without permission.

3. Jobs Journal

Job’s Journal is the channel I go to when I want to sit back and relax.  Job’s bread and butter is travelers notebooks and his enthusiasm for stationery is infectious. I always walk away from his stationery hauls and travelers notebook unboxing with all of the excitement and satisfaction of buying new stationery without the buyers guilt. 😉 His talent for art shines through his spreads and his printables and products.

4. James Luke Burk

Does James really need an introduction? James is an absolute wealth of talent, wit and journal inspiration. He makes drawing and working with dry and wet mediums look absolutely effortless. The content that interests me the most at the moment is his 5 year journal (Hobonichi brand) that is coming to an end this year 2023. I’m excited to see how his new journal will evolve.

5. Inky Quil

Inky Quill’s main form of memory keeping is scrapbooking/ project life, her spreads are always filled with vibrant colors, beautiful brush lettering and adorable pictures of her family. The thing I love most about her spreads are how her process is so intuitive and playful no one spread is the same and you can always walk away from her videos with a new technique that you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise!
